Nail filing: Begin by using a medium-coarse nail file to shape the leading edge of the nails, achieving close to the desired contour, then refine with a fine nail file. High-quality nail files have evenly distributed and durable sand grains.
Nail surface polishing: If there are noticeable natural lines or scratches on the nail surface, use a buffer block. Choose a soft, elastic block with moderate roughness to avoid irritating the skin around the nails. Opt for a light-colored block to prevent nail edges from picking up dark powder.
Cuticle softening: Apply a softening agent on the cuticle and let it sit for a minute to soften the cuticles for easier removal. Directly removing dead skin without softening can cause pain.
Cuticle removal: Use a cuticle pusher to push the cuticles towards the nail edge, then trim them with cuticle scissors along the nail edge. Finally, use a cuticle fork to refine the shape to perfection.
Polishing: For optimal results, consider wax polishing using polishing wax and a chamois buffer. Alternatively, use a polishing block to rub back and forth across the nail surface, although the effect is slightly inferior to wax polishing.
Cleaning: Use a cleaning brush to remove dust from the nail crevices caused during polishing, then wipe clean with a beauty towel or cotton ball dipped in specialized nail disinfectant.
Nail edge and skin care: Apply a ring of nourishing oil on the skin around the nail edges and massage until fully absorbed.
